Additive Manufacturing Solutions Tailored For You

Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM)

Imaginarium is a one-stop engineering solutions provider - from design to development to manufacturing, we are your perfect partner to help you bring your ideas to life.

Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) is the key to unlocking Additive Manufacturing’s potential. By applying AM to your products, we can help you streamline your existing manufacturing systems.  We design to produce parts using the most innovative additive manufacturing technologies. We support companies in their innovation path offering a design service in order to exploit the potential of 3d printing.

Our team of experts have over 15,000 hours of combined experience and can identify, evaluate, and help you adapt your products with DfAM. Each solution will be uniquely catered to your specific needs and requirements. Our experts will be present to guide you at any stage of your product realisation journey.

How can DfAM help you

Part identification

Our team will help you evaluate and identify which parts will benefit the best with application of DfAM keeping in mind the amount of material used, the amount of time required to fabricate the part, and number of parts fabricated.

Design Optimisation

Traditional design processes are negated and each part is redesigned to make stronger, lighter and more efficient parts using the following methods;

Topology optimisation

Reduce excess material and create the most efficient design for each part.

Generative design

Use algorithms to create a number of iterations based on constraints that work on the minimum and maximum input for each part - allowing you to choose the best design that fits your needs.

Assembly consolidation

Combine or merge multiple parts into one part - helping you speed up production and reduce costs and material.

Lattice structures or architected materials

Using implicit design based softwares to generate lighter designs using lattice structures. These structures tend to have high strength and lower mass and are multifunctional.

Spare parts and inventory management

DfAM eliminates the need to store hundreds of spare parts and hold a high inventory by printing spare parts on demand.

Additive Manufacturing

New technologies, materials and techniques have changed what was once known as rapid prototyping. Pieces are now high quality enough to be finished parts and components in production goods. Meaning, “rapid prototyping” is no longer an inclusive enough term. Today, it is best described as “additive manufacturing.”

What they say

Justen England

Managing Director, Design Concepts Boston

"The improvements to the light-touch supports that break away are game-changing. There is no way to describe the first time you take apart and pull at it and it just seamlessly pops completely free. It takes the stress out of building and cleaning parts and lets us keep our focus on design and creation"

Sean Buxton

Senior Mechanical Engineer, Ximedica

"One of the most exciting things about the Form 3 is where the low force print process brings us in terms of print quality and finishing. We’re excited about how we can push the limits of, particularly really tiny features. I am amazed at the small details that show up in models. It's really impressive."
